The Zee Goalkeeper Academy teams up with Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League winning GK Coach John Achterberg for a unique, professional goalkeeper camp experience.
Zee Goalkeeper Academy LLC Co-owners Rick Zucchi and Kristen Culbertson have struck a deal with FIFA number one ranked goalkeeper coach John Achterberg for a 3 day goalkeeper camp that will take place in Port Orange, Florida on June 10-11-12 of 2024.
The ZEE Goalkeeper Academy is the largest goalkeeper school in the Southeast United States and has always distinguished itself by organizing large goalkeeper camps involving goalkeepers from all North America and beyond. The academy works with qualified and licensed college and professional goalkeeper coach staff. Founded in 2016 the academy up to date has worked with over 800 goalkeepers from the age of 8 all the way to professional goalkeepers.
The camp featuring the Liverpool FC head goalkeeper coach will take place at Southwinds soccer complex in Port Orange (Daytona Beach) in central Florida, the hometown of the Goalkeeper Academy. Alongside John Achterberg we will see Orlando City GK Coach Cesar Baena, Ecuadorian international GK coach Mauricio Alvarado, Wales international goalkeeper coach Dave Guinn and many other professional and college coaches. The Academy also thought that it would be inspiring to bring in as supporting coaching staff: Starting GK for Thomas University Emily Lamoreaux and Orlando City B goalkeeper TJ Jeffreys. Both goalkeepers will answer questions to Parents and Goalkeepers about their College and their Academy experiences and what it takes for a goalkeeper to reach these levels of play.
John stated that he is “very excited to come down to Florida and work over the 3 day camp with the 50 participating goalkeepers, stating that he and the rest of the coaching staff are devoted to goalkeeper specific training, teaching each camper technical proficiency, tactical awareness, and the psychological aspect of goalkeeping, promoting both physical and mental improvements within their game. I can’t wait to get started!”
The camp specifically designed for goalkeepers ages 10 through 18. All goalkeepers MUST have at least one year of competitive travel team experience and must already know the basics of goalkeeping. During the three morning camp the goalkeepers will rotate every hour to a different station of the complex to train with a different goalkeeper coach. While John Achterberg will move from station-to-station to interact and supervise the goalkeepers while training with the ZEE coaches. John will also pull random goalkeepers from their group and work with them one-on-one.
